Founded in 1965, HUJ empowers young people to engage in community development, cultural exchange, and social inclusion both in Armenia and abroad.

Desired volunteer profile

We are looking for a motivated, open-minded, and communicative volunteer with a strong interest in youth work and the promotion of volunteering. The ideal volunteer is flexible, creative, and eager to both learn and share experiences. While no specific educational background is required, the volunteer should be comfortable communicating in English/Russian to integrate well with our team. A proactive attitude, willingness to contribute to awareness-raising activities, and an interest in intercultural dialogue and teamwork are highly appreciated.

Description of the activity

The volunteer will join the team of HUJ – a voluntary service organization in Armenia – and take an active role in promoting the culture of volunteering among young people. Tasks will include preparing and sharing information materials, supporting the organization of international workcamps and training events.
The volunteer will also contribute to HUJ’s social media and website by creating engaging content and, depending on their interests, may be involved in making short videos or visuals about volunteering and EVS. Throughout the project, the volunteer will work closely with experienced staff members and will have opportunities to learn about project management, non-formal education, and youth work, while developing their own skills in communication, creativity, and teamwork.

The volunteer will be provided with free accommodation in a dormitory in Yerevan, located within reasonable distance from the HUJ office. The volunteers will stay in twin rooms (2 people per room) and the dormitory will be equipped with basic furniture and kitchen facilities.
The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance for food, transport and other expenses. The volunteer will benefit from language support and mentorship throughout the project. In addition to their regular project activities, HUJ also organizes a variety of cultural and social events for volunteers. These may include visits to museums, ballet and opera performances, as well as excursions to explore areas outside the capital.
