Desired volunteer profileWe are looking for a motivated, patient, and responsible volunteer who enjoys spending time with children and is enthusiastic about supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing. The ideal volunteer is open-minded, empathetic, and ready to adapt to different situations and cultural contexts. Creativity, teamwork, and strong communication skills are highly valued, as is a genuine interest in working with children from diverse backgrounds.
No specific educational background or prior experience is required—what matters most is the volunteer’s motivation to learn, contribute, and make a positive impact. Basic knowledge of English will help the volunteer communicate more easily with the team and local partners.
The volunteer will support the daily activities of a center or program working with children. Tasks may include helping with educational games, arts and crafts, storytelling, sports, or music sessions. The volunteer will assist staff during group activities, help create a positive and inclusive environment, and encourage children's participation and creativity. Depending on their interests and skills, the volunteer may also propose and lead small workshops or cultural activities.
The volunteer will be part of a supportive team and receive guidance throughout the project. This experience offers a chance to develop communication, teamwork, and intercultural skills while contributing meaningfully to the wellbeing and development of children.
The volunteer will be provided with free accommodation in a dormitory in Yerevan, located within reasonable distance from the HUJ office. The volunteers will stay in twin rooms (2 people per room) and the dormitory will be equipped with basic furniture and kitchen facilities.
