Gewünschtes Freiwilligenprofil

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable volunteer who enjoys working outdoors and with plants. An interest in nature conservation, environmental education, and ecological issues is highly valued. The volunteer should be ready for hands-on work such as gardening, maintenance, and assisting with educational activities for visitors. Creativity and the ability to present environmental topics in engaging formats (games, exercises, workshops) are an advantage, as is the ability to write short articles or promotional materials. Good communication skills in English and/or Russian will help with integration into the team and interaction with visitors. No specific gender, age, or professional background is required - motivation and genuine interest in the field are the key factors.

The volunteer will assist the staff of the National Botanical Garden of Yerevan in various environmental maintenance tasks, including caring for plants, clearing paths, removing weeds, cultivating trees, collecting seedlings, and ensuring the cleanliness of the grounds. They will also help with irrigation work and support the organization of workshops and events.
In addition, the volunteer will have opportunities to engage with visitors—especially children—through informal chats and games to promote environmental learning. They may also contribute to creating articles about the Botanical Garden for websites and, under guidance, participate in paleobotany research with an experienced specialist.
